With over a decade of experience in college admissions, counseling, and education, James Beeks is a dedicated advocate for students navigating the complex college application process. At UT Austin, he evaluated more than 650 applications, served on appeals committees, and represented the university at college fairs throughout the Greater Houston region, gaining valuable insight into what makes applicants stand out in a competitive process.
James has since served as a full-time college counselor at a leading charter school and within Texas’ largest school district, helping hundreds of students—many of them first-generation and underrepresented—gain admission to top institutions. His multifaceted experience as an educator, teacher, and independent counselor equips him to support students holistically, both academically and personally.
Through his work with Quality College Advising LLC, James combines strategic planning, mentorship, and insider admissions knowledge to help students craft authentic, standout applications. He remains closely connected to the field through his involvement with TACAC and as a dedicated EMERGE volunteer, chaperoning national college tours and collaborating with college access leaders nationwide.
For the past three years, I’ve proudly volunteered with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a member of the Midway Ticket Committee, contributing over 150 service hours. Each season, I help welcome and assist thousands of guests as they enjoy the carnival and rodeo experience, supporting one of Houston’s most iconic community events.
Each year, I serve as a volunteer reader for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship applications, helping review and select deserving students from a competitive pool.
